Quick Change Gripping Solution
PTG INTRODUCES the new “PTG Quick Change” (PQC) from (external) collet operation to (internal) mandrel gripping solutions without the need to remove the collet chuck or any adapter plate, a significant time saving in itself.
The quick change unit is universal and can be clamped in any collet chuck system capable of gripping the 38,10 mm gripping shank of the adapter unit.
Designed to provide flexibility and utilising PTG’s standard drawbar mandrel system, the quick change unit can be used with existing mandrel assemblies, alternatively mandrels and sleeves can be supplied with the unit, these can range in size from 12,00 to 82,00 mm.
Featuring peripheral manual clamping adjustment through a square key driving a precision geared drive, precision ground square and concentric component accuracy will be within 0,012 mm
The unit is manufactured from high grade carbon steel and provides a rigid platform on which to mount the standard PTG range of drawbar mandrels.
The unit can be loaded with a mandrel assembly offline saving more valuable production time and as and when required can be moved from machine to machine as the production schedule demands.
Chuck mounting is also an option whereby the long and arduous task of removing a chuck from a CNC machine tool is no longer required. Accurate gripping in a three jaw chuck is a simple jaw change this will allow the mounting of the adaptor unit.
The mandrel adapter unit is supplied with one interchangeable expander pin threaded retaining nut.
